Hello, Newgrounds! I've missed this place. Last month, I finished a cartoon called "Billy Onslaught", which I've been working on for the last several years.
Regrettably it includes music that, while very personal to me, is also also very copyrighted. Because of this I can't post it here, but you can watch it on my YouTube channel if you'd like!
At some point, I'd like to do a mini behind-the-scenes video detailing Billy's production and why it took me 3 years to finish, but the short answer is: life changes and insecurity. Post-college life threw a wrench into things, and I wasn't confident in myself as an animator or a human. I felt bad about myself and I though that if I tried really hard to make something ambitious and complicated, people would respect me and then I'd magically be confident forever!
Fortunately I'm no longer that desperate for approval, and I have a much healthier relationship with animation now that it's not (entirely) attached to my ego. It's slightly embarrassing to me that cartoons have had this great an effect on my life!
Since finishing Billy, I've been focusing on my next project, which is called, "Dusthole". It's about a group of teenagers screwing around the summer after graduating high school. I've spent the last month tightening up the character designs, and I figured I'd share some expression sheets I've done for the main four:
I've found some ways to simplify my production process which should speed things up a bit, but it'll probably still take a while before the next cartoon. In any case, Dusthole will not feature any copyrighted music, so whenever I do finish it, I will certainly post it here!
Cheers,
